Who are the Acholi people?
The Acholi people are the Luo speaking ethnic group of the Nilotic people inhabiting Northern Uganda and small part of the South Sudan. Acholi people are primarily farmers and pastoralists cultivating crops like millet and growing vegetables like boo, malakwang, Akeyo, oyado, with vey rich and diverse cultural heritage influenced by their Luo ancestry and interactions with other groups over centuries.
Historically, the Acholi people are known to have series of chiefdoms under the rule and leadership of Rwodi, each clan/chiefdom have their own Rwot also known as the King or Chief.
